    The annual Art & Wine Festival in Walnut Creek one of the East Bay’s greatest outdoor festivals. Attracting over 100,000 visitors yearly, it is a two-day celebration in beautiful Heather Farm Park. The venue is always packed full of great food and drinks, live music, delightful art from local artists and lot of fun games for both adults and kids. Gather and grab a local brew to watch the WARRIORS game on the GIANT SCREEN at the BEER GARDEN. Revelers can sample local restaurants’ delicacies and wash it all down with regional wine or the micro-brew of their choice.Admission is free, and the event lasts from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday June 1st and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday June 2nd. With sunshine and plenty of of grassy fields, the whole family is sure to have a great time.     Walnut Creek Magazine recently released their Best of 2018 Reader's Choice Awards issue, and the Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival won Best Community Event. The Chamber is honored to receive this recognition for the third consecutive year. We sincerely thank the generous sponsors and all the hard working Chamber members and community volunteers who have helped bring this event to our city for 37 years.   • The Third Annual Mayors’ Summit

    Presented by the Contra Costa Chambers of Commerce and held at Boundary Oak Golf Course was attended by over 150 business and civic leaders. The Mayors’ of Walnut Creek-Cindy Silva, Concord-Carlyn Obringer, Lafayette-Mike Anderson, Martinez-Rob Schroder, and Pleasant Hill-Ken Carlson shared and reviewed the highlights and challenges facing their respective communities in issues such as housing, homelessness, infrastructure, congestion and economic development. Summit Moderator and Walnut Creek Chamber Chair-Elect, Matt Guichard, probed each of the topics from a business perspective. This year the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau took the lead in facilitating the Summit.

    Yours Humanly, a Northern California-based nonprofit that provides underprivileged children in underserved communities access to quality education, was named 2018-2019 Outstanding Volunteer Organization during the 7th annual Mount Diablo Education Association (MDEA) Academy Awards, held May 9, at Centre Concord and attended by 200 educators, staff, and volunteers. Yours Humanly was recognized for its long-term volunteer partnership with the Mount Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) and its positive impact on thousands of MDUSD students.
