    Walnut Creek Magazine recently released their Best of 2018 Reader's Choice Awards issue, and the Walnut Creek Art & Wine Festival won Best Community Event. The Chamber is honored to receive this recognition for the third consecutive year.   • The Third Annual Mayors’ Summit

    Presented by the Contra Costa Chambers of Commerce and held at Boundary Oak Golf Course was attended by over 150 business and civic leaders. The Mayors’ of Walnut Creek-Cindy Silva, Concord-Carlyn Obringer, Lafayette-Mike Anderson, Martinez-Rob Schroder, and Pleasant Hill-Ken Carlson shared and reviewed the highlights and challenges facing their respective communities in issues such as housing, homelessness, infrastructure, congestion and economic development. Summit Moderator and Walnut Creek Chamber Chair-Elect, Matt Guichard, probed each of the topics from a business perspective. This year the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau took the lead in facilitating the Summit.

    Yours Humanly, a Northern California-based nonprofit that provides underprivileged children in underserved communities access to quality education, was named 2018-2019 Outstanding Volunteer Organization during the 7th annual Mount Diablo Education Association (MDEA) Academy Awards, held May 9, at Centre Concord and attended by 200 educators, staff, and volunteers. Yours Humanly was recognized for its long-term volunteer partnership with the Mount Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) and its positive impact on thousands of MDUSD students.
