    The City of Walnut Creek has launched a $2500 “Walnut Creek Energy Champion” rebate available on a first-come, first-served basis that can be added to the Business Energy Services Team (BEST) Program’s rebate, available through Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). Together, the City’s rebate and PG&E’s rebate may cover about 75 percent or more of project costs.

    A new world record? On Saturday, August 15, our very own Marilyn Schmidt took part in hopefully setting a new Guinness World Record for “The Largest Gathering of People Dressed as a Rosie the Riveter.” An impressive 1085 Rosie the Riveter lookalikes gathered at Rosie the Riveter Memorial in Marina Park. The previous record was 776, set in Ypsilanti, MI. The event, which was planned by the Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Park, was scheduled to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the ending of World War II (Photo by Jennifer Jay, Clayton, CA)
